roberto lauro, born on jersey island in 1932, is one of the most important contemporary swiss artists. after studying in amsterdam, bern and zurich, he initially worked as a commercial artist before devoting himself to fine art from the 1980s onwards. his work includes paintings, prints and sculptures, and he has gained international recognition in particular for his combination of glass and metal in movable sculptures. lauro’s works focus on the dynamics of light, color and space and have been shown in numerous exhibitions in europe and the USA.
