the artist was born on 2 november 1950 in innsbruck. he is an austrian director, filmmaker and artist. he comes from steinach and lives with his family in sweden.
after graduating from the university of applied arts in vienna in 1976, he was awarded the austrian state prize in the same year. from 1976 to 1979, he studied directing, cinematography and editing at the centro sperimentale di cinematografia in rome.
