karl zangerl lives and works in innsbruck and lermoos. even while working as a psychiatrist, he was occupied with painting. his fondness for brazil inspired him to create the series “a serie brasileira”. “the paintings focus on scenes of the brazilian environment: the peaceful streets of colonial paraty, the quiet beaches, houses and pipelines that cut through the sky of s\u00e3o paulo. in bright colours, the works are detached from reality, they show a dream in which visions of real places are depicted as if in images from one’s own imagination.” – jair mari<\/p>\n\n\n\n
