 wilhelm scheruebl

wilhelm scheruebl devotes himself to natural structures and processes that are  everywhere to be found. -self-organized structures of construction and transformation which become apparent in interpersonal networks just as much as in the cellular structure of a stem. form-formation processes strike a balance between order and chaos. at the onset of his reflections scheruebl places the light, which - through the interplay of light and dark - sets the dynamic of 'becoming' in motion. the philosopher and sociologist georg simmel argues in "the philosophy of landscape" (2013) that what we perceive as nature is "the infinite connection of things, the uninterrupted process of giving birth to and destroying forms, the flowing unity of happening". matter, every substance, is in constant transformation. the cycles of nature, from the changing of the seasons to the certain termination of our bodily existence, testify to this. the plant exemplies this transformation, this constant progress of becoming. it represents the cycle that is inherent in the course of a year - from germ bud to blossom to seed formation, until new earth is formed from the dead plant.
